FAQ
How long does each session last?
At PSICOLORIA, each therapeutic session has a standard duration of 50 minutes. However, we understand that each situation and person is unique, so the duration may vary from time to time according to individual needs and the dynamics of the session.
In addition, we are pleased to offer a free 30-minute introductory session, designed specifically for you to get to know us and feel confident before committing to a full treatment. This introductory session is an opportunity for you to share your concerns and goals, and for us to explore how we can accompany you on your path to emotional wellness.
What type of therapy will I receive?
At PSICOLORIA, we offer a therapeutic approach tailored to the individual needs of each person. We are trained in two fundamental approaches: cognitive-behavioral therapy and humanistic therapy focused on emotion.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on identifying and modifying patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to emotional difficulties. Through this approach, you will learn practical techniques to manage stress, overcome fears and develop effective coping skills.
On the other hand, emotion-focused humanistic therapy is oriented toward personal growth and the development of human potential. In this approach, we value authenticity and emotional connection, providing a safe and compassionate space to explore deeper feelings and find meaning in experiences.
In each session, we will work with you to determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach, considering your needs and the situation you are going through. We take the time to listen to you and understand your goals in order to create a treatment plan that fits you.
Are there multi-session vouchers to save money?
Of course, at PSICOLORIA we offer vouchers for several sessions, which can be an excellent option for those who wish to commit to a longer therapeutic process.
The voucher for 4 individual sessions has a special price of 240 €, which is equivalent to a 10% discount.
For couples sessions, we also offer a voucher of 4 sessions at a special price of 320 €, which means a discount of 5 € per session.
These vouchers provide significant savings and can help you commit to your long-term emotional growth and well-being. If you are interested in purchasing a session voucher or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What if I do not connect with my psychologist?
At PSICOLORIA, we understand how important it is to establish a genuine and trusting connection with your psychologist. If at any time you feel that you are not connecting with us, we want you to know that this is okay and that there is no problem.
To address this situation, we offer a free, no-obligation 30-minute first session. During this session, you will have the opportunity to get to know us better and feel if there is a mutual connection and comfort. This session is designed for you to explore if our approach and therapeutic style is right for you.
How often are the sessions?
PSICOLORIA generally recommends that sessions be held once a week. However, we understand that each person and situation is unique, so the frequency of sessions may vary according to your individual needs and financial situation.
During our first free session, we can discuss and evaluate what would be the most appropriate frequency for your therapy sessions. We understand the importance of finding a balance between receiving the necessary support and respecting your financial resources.
Our goal is to provide you with the support you need in a way that is accessible and sustainable for you. If at any time you feel that the frequency of sessions needs to be adjusted, we can reassess and make the necessary changes to ensure your well-being.
How long does a therapeutic process usually last?
The duration of a therapeutic process may be shorter or longer, depending on individual needs and circumstances. In some cases, people may experience significant improvements in a few sessions, especially if the therapeutic focus is on the resolution of a specific problem or the acquisition of coping skills. However, in more complex situations or specific disorders, longer-term treatment may be necessary.
Duration may also be influenced by the frequency of sessions. For example, more frequent sessions may accelerate progress, while less frequent sessions may extend the time needed to achieve therapeutic goals.
For PSYCHOLORIA, it is essential that therapist and patient work together to set realistic goals and adjust the therapeutic approach as necessary to meet individual needs.
After how many sessions can I notice a change?
In some cases, individuals may experience significant improvements in a few sessions, especially if the therapeutic focus is on the resolution of a specific problem or the acquisition of coping skills. However, in more complex situations or in the presence of specific disorders, longer-term treatment may be necessary.
It is important to remember that each person is unique and responds differently to therapy. Some people may notice positive changes after a few sessions, while others may need more time to experience significant improvements. Often, changes occur subtly or even unconsciously, so it may take some time to notice them.
At PSICOLORIA we work in collaboration with the person in therapy to set realistic goals, and we will recapitulate the objectives from time to time, making progress more conscious and helping the person to see more clearly the progress achieved.
When does therapy end?
Therapy at PSICOLORIA is considered completed when the established therapeutic goals are met. In an evaluation session, we review progress toward those goals, discuss possible new goals, and decide whether or not to continue therapy.
Prior to completion, it is common to space out the sessions and follow up to ensure that changes are sustained and to address any additional needs.
What are the next steps after discharge?
Before being discharged, it is common that therapeutic sessions are spaced out. Subsequently, if necessary, a psychological report may be requested (consult cost). Some time after the end of therapy, we will contact the person in therapy to verify his or her condition. Follow-up sessions can be scheduled every month or every three months to evaluate the person’s condition and address new situations that may arise.
The PSYCHOLORIA approach ensures that the person in therapy continues to receive support even after the main therapy has ended, providing a space to address any additional needs and ensure long-term emotional stability.
